Anthopometrical Points for Men's Body Measurements

  1. Apical.
Position of head for measuring height using Frankfort plane where lower eye socket is horizontally level with upper ear canal.
  2. Neck point.
7th Cervical Vertebra point. At removal of the measurements is as the most protruding point of the cervical vertebra.
  3. Neck base point.
Point of the neck basis. A point on crossing of a line of a grasp of a neck with the vertical plane dissecting a humeral slope half-and-half.
  4. Juguar notch.
A point in the centre of juguar notch.
  5. Humeral.
A point on crossing upper-external edges of the scapula acromion with the vertical plane dissecting a humeral slope half-and-half.
  6. Nipple.
The most protruding point of the breast.
  7. Anterior axillary fold.
The highest point of the arc formed by the anterior margin of the axilla with the arm lowered.
  8. Posterior axillary fold.
The highest point of the arc formed by the posterior margin of the axilla with the arm lowered.
  9. Buttock.
The most prominent point of the buttock.
  10. Point of the waist line height.
Point on the most thinnest part of the lateral surface of the torso, between the lower rib and the crest of the ilium.
  11. Knee.
The center of the patella (kneecap).
  12. Shoulder blade point.
The most prominent point of the scapula.

Men's Body Measurements

1. Height
Measure from head to floor.

2. Chest III
Around the biggest part of bust. The bust measurement is taken by placing a measuring tape over the back, underneath the arms and then over the highest point on the bust.

3. Waist
Measured horizontally at the thinnest part of the torso.

Measurements for Patterns Calculation

* Full circumferences of the torso are divided by two: only half of the measurement is input into the programm.

1. Height
Measure from head to floor.

4. Neck*
Measured above 7th vertebra point. Measuring tape is placed around the base of the neck and closed in front above the jugular notch.

5. Chest I*
Measuring tape is placed horizontally across the back. The top edge of the tape must touch back underarm points, then continue under arms.

6. Chest II*
The measuring tape is placed horizontally around the body over the bust points. This measurement defines your garment size.

7. Waist*
Measured horizontally at the thinnest part of the torso.

8. Hips*
Measured horizontally at the widest part of the hips and across the buttock points.

9. Chest Height
Measured vertically from the neck base point to the nipple.

10. Front Length
This measurement is taken immediately after the Chest Height. It is taken from the neck base point, over the nipple and down to the waist level.

11. Chest Width*
Measured across the chest above the bust, between front underarm points.

12. Bust Separation*
Measured horizontally between the bust points.

13. Armhole Depth
Place a tape measure or piece of string across the back under the arms and measure down from the neck bone (7th cervical vertebra point) to the centre of the tape.

14. Back Length
Measured vertically from the 7th vertebra point along the spine to the waist level. Before taking this measurement, a tape should be tied around the waist to mark the waist position.

15. Sholder Slope Back
The shortest distance between the point where the spine and waist lines cross to the shoulder point (Humeral).

16. Back Width*
Measured horizontally, the tape is placed over the shoulder blades between back underarm points (Posterior axillary fold).

17. Shoulder Length
Measured from the neck base point to the shoulder point.

18. Torso Position
Measure by the two mutually perpendicular rulers across from the neck point up to the vertical plane, a tangent to the shoulder blades' points.

19. Arm Length
Measured on the outer side of the arm, from the shoulder point to the first thumb joint.

20. Arm Girth
Measured horizontally around the thickest part of the arm. The top edge of the tape touches back underarm point.

21. Wrist
Wrap the tape measure around the wrist.

22. Waist to Floor on Side
Place the start of the tape at the side of his waist level to the navel. Stretch the tape down the side of the leg until you reach the top of the heel on your customer's dress shoe.

23. Waist to Floor in Front
Measure from the center front waist point to the floor.

24. Thigh
Thigh - circumference measure at the widest point.

25. Inseam
Measure from the crotch intersection to the floor.

26. Grotch Depth
Crotch depth is sitting on a hard surface and measuring from the waist down to a surface.
